We had game night with some of our friends this weekend. We had a blast. AND we had yummy food! One of my besties made 3 different dips for us to much on that were OH so savory! Since she had the savory covered, I covered the sweet. And cover it I did! In chocolate and caramel.
If you ever have had Better Than Sex Cake, you know what I am talking about. It’s the bomb! But who wants to try to eat cake while playing cards?!?! I sure don’t. That takes too much effort. I want something I can just munch on in between turns. Chex Mix is great, or Puppy Chow. But that’s just the same old thing. I made Better Than Sex Chex. And it was absolutely delish! I wish I had taken more photos, but we were having too much fun getting all our food and cards ready for game night.
You can make this and serve or make and store. I have enough ingredients left to make another batch this weekend.
I hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Ingredients
8 cups of Chex cereal, your choice of which. I used corn and rice. Next time I will also use chocolate
¾ cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons butter, cut into 6 pieces
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
¼ teaspoon baking soda
4 Heath candy bars, roughly chopped
1 cup mini marshmallows
½ cup caramel bits
1 tablespoon heavy cream
½ cup chocolate chips ( I used mini semi-sweet because that is what I had open)
½ cup vanilla or white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon salt
Steps:
- In large mixing bowl, that also fits in your microwave, measure out your Chex and set aside.
- In a smaller bowl, microwave together brown sugar, butter and corn syrup for 1-2 minutes, stirring halfway, until it’s smooth. Stir in baking soda until dissolved.
- Pour caramel mixture over Chex and toss until evenly coated. Microwave for 3 minutes, stirring every minute.
- While that is in micro, line a couple baking sheets with parchment paper.
- When Chex is done in micro, spread on cookie sheets and let cool about 10 minutes. Break into bite size pieces.
- When cool to the touch, sprinkle marshmallows and Heath pieces.
- In a small bowl, microwave caramel bites and heavy cream, until smooth and able to drizzle. I stirred about every 20-30 seconds. With a spoon, drizzle this over Chex mix.
- Using clean and DRY bowl, do the same with the chocolate chips, Microwave, stir, microwave and stir until right consistency. Then drizzle chocolate over Chex mix.
- Using clean and DRY bowl, do the same with the white chips, Microwave, stir, microwave and stir until right consistency. Then drizzle white chocolate over Chex mix.
- Sprinkle some coarse salt over mix before drizzles harden.
- Let harden, ideally in refrigerator. Break apart and serve. Or store in airtight container to serve later.
